1. In Bosnia, Samira will soon run out of kibble to feed the 115 dogs in her shelter. They narrowly escaped euthanasia thanks to her, but now risk starving to death if no one intervenes!
"There was a very awful situation in the municipal pound of Praca where dogs were starving, had diseases. Me and my husband started to help as much as we could. At one point, employees at the pound began to euthanize the dogs, at night, when there were no volunteers. That's when I took 70 dogs from the pound, with the help of good people, which were added to the ones I had already rescued from the street.
I ended up with almost 150 dogs in my care, and unfortunately, many who promised to help me simply stopped, due to lack of funds. Now I am fighting for the survival of these dogs which I saved.
We are in a very big need of food, with the current situation lots of our donors lost their jobs or are sick. Now I give dogs around 30/40 kilograms of food daily instead of 50/60 like they used to have before. They do not eat enough anymore. They deserve better after all the suffering from the street and the pound."
2. The dogs already don't eat enough, they might kill each other if Samira doesn't find kibble.
"I'm afraid of sickness and aggressiveness of the dogs. They will start eating each other if I can't find any solution. Most of them still have these traumas from the pound, they were in great suffering there.
Whoever comes will see that there are dogs that are unfortunately thin because there are a lot of them and I give them 30 to 50 kilograms a day, which is very little. Some dogs are scared, and they will let more dominant dogs get their food. Several of them already started to develop skin diseases like demodex due to the lack of food and general bad quality of it.
I give them all my attention, all my finances, I'm really trying to make them feel loved and less scared. I honestly live for my kids and these dogs."
3. Submissive, Gara is unable to confront the other dogs to eat, she is thin and threatened by the lack of kibble.
"Gara was found on the street as a cub, she's been at the shelter for nearly 2 years now. People were giving her a hard time while she was a stray, nobody was taking care of her.
Unfortunately Gara is underfed, since she is scared of the other dogs. They take her food, and she doesn't fight for it."
4. Samira has sacrificed everything for these dogs, but the pandemic has made the shelter even more precarious, she has no way to buy kibble.
"My husband and,I, we give all we have for the dogs. We live in the woods, far away from civilization. When I started helping a few dogs 8 years ago, I was able to provide for them, I was working in Sarajevo. But then, after about a year following the big rescue from the pound, we had to leave, as we were not allowed to keep the dogs there, that's why we are here, I had to fight for them, and I still do.
There is no electricity, and only me and my husband, as we can't hire anyone. I have a group of wonderful people, who cover the costs of accomodation, and do their best to help along. But it's just a few people, and currently everyone has less finances because of the pandemic, there is much less donators.
Unfortunately I have very little help. I'm sad, and I don't know what to do. I have no one to turn to anymore and you are my only hope for helping these dogs."
5. Samira is not asking for money, just kibble to keep the dogs from starving.
"A couple of years ago, I had very difficult 4 surgeries and by chance I survived. The doctor says that I called the dog in my sleep. And that is pure love for animals, especially dogs because they are the most endangered. They are my hairy children.
I honestly think that God brought me back to live so that I could continue to help dogs that are so endangered in Bosnia. I believe that no one can understand this love until they feel it.
We love dogs a lot and I can't let them go back to the street or get killed."
6. If this campaign succeeds, Samira will not receive any money but 1920 kg of kibbles, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistic platform in Bosnia.

7. Samira's calls for help to organizations remain unanswered, her few supporters have already done their utmost to avoid the worst.
"We have a big drop in donations, especially since the borders have been closed. Two of our best donators cannot help us anymore due to serious health issues.
I contacted all of the organizations I could find, but most of the times I simply received no answer. Please help these 115 dogs not to stay hungry."
