1. In Romania, Andreea rescued 35 puppies from the pound, but she will soon have no more food to feed them, they will starve!

%%%

"I volunteer at Targu Frumos' pound, which currently hosts around 150 dogs. Puppies cannot be sheltered there, because the larger dogs are aggressive to the smaller ones, and there aren't enough cages to keep them apart. In addition, if the puppies stay there, they end up getting sick.

To avoid this, what I do is bring them at my house, wait for them to be vaccinated, and try to send them for adoption because puppies have greater success. This month I managed to raise enough money for 10 bags of puppy food. This should last another 5 days or so. I don't have money to buy more after that.

The municipality does not help with anything regarding the puppies. They only provide half the food necessary for adults because they say the dogs are already too fat anyway...I am on my own, trying to provide for the puppies and give them a chance at a better life. I need some help..."

2. Without kibble, the puppies will not survive the diseases this winter ...

###

"The puppies are too small to eat adult food. If I cannot find money soon to buy junior food, it will be very bad for them. I will have to boil some rice for them, and they will definitely get sick eating only rice... It's not good for dogs and even worse for puppies, by any means.

I do have an extended network and go beg for food and donations, but it takes a lot of time, money and even physical resources and sometimes I don't get anything. I no longer have help with vaccinations for example, I've been paying for those from my own pocket.

I don't have enough help and it's overwhelming... The puppies need to eat! If I didn't take care for them and hosted them in my yard, they would die! They would be taken to the shelter where the older ones would eat them, plain and simple. They need me, and I need your help to keep going..."

3. Puricosu is already a victim of the attacks of other, bigger puppies, if Andreea doesn't find kibble, he won't survive...

###

"Puricosu is about 1 and a half months old. Someone posted a message about him, asking if there was anyone available to take this puppy. When I got there he was full of fleas, hungry, barely breathing... He stayed for 5 days on his own in the forest before I rescued him.

He is doing better now but he is being beaten by the other puppies because he is the smallest... If a food shortage comes, he will be at a great disadvantage compared to the others. We desperately need puppy food to prevent this from happening."

4. The sharp drop in adoptions and donations caused by the pandemic has brought its share of obstacles to Andreea: she can no longer buy kibble for the puppies!

###

"The pandemic came with a drop in donations and a drop in adoptions so things got very difficult. Of course, the less dogs I have, the less need for food, but adoptions haven't picked up lately and I have many mouths to feed. At the moment, I  can barely afford all the expenses.

Targu Frumos is kind of a rural, small city area and people around here are not really educated when it comes to dogs, they beat them, tie them up in a bag and abandon them on the side of the road. They just don't care...

And those who do care can only help up to a point. Not even restaurants want to help with leftover food right now..."

5. Andreea isn't asking for money, only kibble to keep the dogs from starving!

###

"I’ve been rescuing animals for 15 years, ever since I moved to Targu Frumos. 4 years ago I started taking the puppies from the pound with me, in my yard, on top of my fundrasing and adoption efforts for the dogs at the pound.

All this volunteering takes a lot of my time, time that I don’t really have as I have a small child, but I care for these dogs too much to let them starve, no matter how time and soul consuming all of this may be.

No matter what, I can't let these dogs to fend for themselves, in such a hostile environement. It makes me feel sad, I cry a lot, though I promised I will try not to cry any more, at times, I feel mad as hell at the situation..."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Andreea will not receive any money but 1800 kg of junior kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistic platform in Romania.

###

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Romania, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

7. Andreea is alerting the public to her situation on social media. Unfortunately, she has received too few donations to put the puppies to safety.

"With the pandemic, there has been an increase in abandonments, some people were left without jobs and they abandoned their dogs. Which means right now there are many more dogs to take care of, and many more puppies as a result.

Many of the things I do for these dogs and the pound come from my own money, from my own salary. I no longer find the financial resources to do it by myself. I need help providing for them!"

8. Actions launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The organizer doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Romania, it is difficult to find funds for kibbles, there are no aid, no grants, no foundation... Many abandoned dogs die alone in the streets, in complete indifference...

If you know of a foundation or NGO that could help Andreea please invite them to contact us so that we can put them in touch with each other.

If you represent a Foundation or NGO for animal protection, please help Targu Frumos' dogs, contact us and we will put you in touch!
