1. In Romania, Sorin will soon have no more kibbles to feed the 119 dogs at his shelters. If no one takes action, they will starve!

%%%

Lack of food has been the main issue since the pandemic. I lost part of my income because of the COVID situation and I had to rely more on donations from others.

The donations are very scarce and I don't have enough money to buy food for the 119 dogs at the shelter, and the 30 strays we take care of...I wish I could do more for them but I think I'm close to my limit. Having time and resources to provide enough food for all of them is very difficult.

I really need this campaign to succeed because winter is coming and the dogs need to eat a lot more to resist the cold weather...Temperatures here can get to -10°C...

2. Given their current struggles, the association has had to stop rescuing new dogs, they are dying in the streets!

###

"With our current difficulties, we've had to stop rescuing new dogs from the streets. We still feed around 30 of them, but that's all we can do for now. We can barely afford to take care of our own dogs, so we've had to take a step back unfortunately...

I can't support all this amount of food from my own money... I'm trying my best to help them but I always feel like I need more time and resources. It bothers me to think about all the dogs I'm unable to help at the moment...

But i'm trying to be strong, I can't let my fears take me down. I truly hope this campaign will succeed and I can't thank you enough for considering me for this. We can't let these dogs down."

3. Negruta's mother was killed in front of her eyes by a pack of strays. Traumatised and still growing, her survival relies on Sorin's ability to feed her!

###

"We found Negruta when she was around 6 weeks old, together with her mother and her 5 siblings, in the yard of a small electrical station. We vaccinated the puppies and we were planning to take the mother to neuter.

Some of the puppies were adopted by some workers and there remained only Negruta and her mother. One day when we went there to feed them, we found Negruta's mother brutally killed. We looked for Negruta but  it was impossible to find her. We succeeded to find her hidden after 2 days.

We later found out from a worker that Negruta's mother had been killed by 4 big wild dogs. She died saving Negruta!! When we finally found Negruta she ran to me, she was looking very scared...Unfortunatelly she is still marked by that episode and is scared of other dogs.

I really hope Negruta can get adopted, but until then, she's with us and needs to remain healthy. She is still young and needs proper food to suit her stamina."

4. The pandemic has affected Sorin's income and donations, he can no longer buy kibbles for the dogs!

###

"Everybody has been affected by the economical crisis that followed the lockdowns. So naturally, things have been worse regarding donations.

I receive very few donations, they cover for around 20% of our total costs only. For all the rest, I have to provide with my own money. My income has been severely impacted by the pandemic as well, I'm running very low on funds and even if I get some help from an online romanian association, it's not enough.

I have credits for the shelter space, around 2000 euros monthly; the local administration doesn't support us at all...I wish I could do more but I'm pretty much alone."

5. Sorin isn't asking for money, only kibbles to keep the dogs from starving!

###

"I started rescuing dogs in 2016. At first it was a hobby or passion and then I kept saving more and I ended up buying this land where I started to build proper kennels and I realised I have quite a few dogs already.

We worked with local vets and started sterilisation and vaccination campaigns but the people's mentality here remains the same unfortunately. Nobody considers our acts for the dogs, they prefer to send the dog catchers instead of calling us...

Here in Buzau people treat dogs like they're pests... People just don't get how much of a responsability an animal could be and they end up neglecting them. People have to wake up and see the cruelty around them..."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Sorin will not receive any money but x kg of kibbles, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistic platform in Romania.

Animal Webaction has a logistics platform in Romania which enables us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

7. Sorin has alerted his community of his inability to rescue more dogs. If he doesn't find a new kibble stock soon, both the strays and the shelter dogs are in danger...

"I have a collaboration with a local petshop, I had some contracts with a romanian funding website which helps me occasionally. I'm very greatful to receive this help but unfortunately, it's not enough at the moment to feed all the dogs.

With the pandemic still going on, the economy has fallen and it already has consequences... We've made the decision to stop rescuing new dogs for now because we simply cannot afford to do more. I'm really worried for the shelter dogs and the strays... We cannot let the situation deteriorate any further..."

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Romania, it is difficult to find funds for kibbles, there are no aid, no grants, no foundation... Many abandoned dogs die alone in the streets, in complete indifference...
