Animal Webaction visited the site 22 November 2020 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Romania, Carmina will soon run out of kibble to feed the 70 dogs in her shelter. If no one takes action, they will starve!

%%%

"I currently have 70 dogs at the shelter and an additional 10 that I’m feeding on the streets. I’m ashamed to admit this but I can’t cope on my own with all the expenses anymore. Because of COVID, adoptions are a rarity and the dogs are too many for what I can support right now.

I am financing everything with my own income and my parents try to help me as well, but even in combining our efforts, we still have a hard time supporting the shelter financially.

In 13 years, this is the first time I can’t provide the minimum necessary for them. If I don't find a solution, I'm afraid the dogs will start fighting with each other, the old ones might even die... I am really afraid and I hope from the bottom of my heart that this campaign will succeed."

2. Abandonments are on the rise but Carmina is unable to rescue more dogs due to her current lack of resources. They are dying in the streets.

###

"There are more and more abandoned dogs in the village...People get rid of their unspayed dogs and they end up mating, giving birth to many more... It never ends.

There are some dogs at a warehouse within the village that I wish to rescue but I can't right now due to lack of resources, lack of food, lack of space...I feel hopeless about the current situation of dogs in my area.

If I don’t find food, the street dogs will start scavenging around the village, it will be uncontrolable and a disaster.

3. Thrown on the streets after her owner died, Bella has given birth to 10 puppies. She needs kibble to continue nursing them!

###

"Bella is 5 years old, I rescued her last month. Her owner died of cancer and his family decided to throw Bella on the streets, pregnant...

I managed to save her right after she gave birth to 10 beautiful puppies. If Bella can't feed her babies anymore due to her own lack of food, I won't be able to save any of them, they are too young to eat anything other than milk, and I won't be able to afford that either"

4. With the pandemic, Carmina's donations and supports are getting fewer and fewer. Indebted, she can no longer buy kibble for her dogs!

###

"There has been a drop in donations and I think it’s because of the pandemic, people focus more on themselves rather than other people’s problems.

I have debts to the bread factory. The butcher's shop used to give me some leftover meat, but they go through the same difficulties since the pandemic so they can’t help me as often as they used to.

I feel very fragile because I’m dependent on other people’s help to keep me going on with this project. We live unique moments around the world and I believe these dogs need our love and support now more than ever."

5. Carmina isn't asking for money, only kibble to keep the dogs from starving!

###

"I think one’s love for animals is hereditary. For me, it all started with my grandparents. They loved dogs and started rescuing them back in their day. I am the one continuing their legacy, trying to save as many animals as I can.

I wish a better world for everybody and for my baby and I truly believe that if every person were to do small acts of kindness, it would make a big difference in saving animals and giving them a chance.

Dogs are dependent on humans' help and mercy. The only ones that could make a change for them would be us... Right now things are very difficult for dogs and humans alike, but I truly hope things will change for better with this new upcoming year."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Carmina will not receive any money but 2400 kg of kibbles, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistic platform in Romania.

Animal Webaction has a logistics platform in Romania which enables us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

7. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

8. In Romania, it is difficult to find funds for kibbles, there are no aid, no grants, no foundation... Many abandoned dogs die alone in the streets, in complete indifference...

If you know of a foundation or NGO that could help Carmina, please invite them to contact us so that we can put them in touch.

If you represent an animal protection foundation or NGO, please help Carmina's dogs, contact us and we will put you in touch!
