1. In Bosnia, Renata will soon be out of kibble to feed the 145 dogs at her shelter. If no one takes action, they will starve!

"The dogs are constantly growing in number. Just a few days ago we got a few new dogs, and lately people have started redirecting all of the abandoned dogs to me. I also take many dogs from the public shelter in because the conditions over there are simply horrible. I take them, just so I know they'll be safe and fed...

With so many dogs, having enough food is always the main problem. There is not enough food right now, the portions I'm able to give the dogs are more like a snack and it’s been like this for a few days already...The dogs don't get full meals. We have food for today and tomorrow but after that I'll have to find a way to go and get more food. This is why I am turning to you, I really hope you will be able to help me."

2. Renata's shelter is overcrowded. Without a new stock of food, aggression among the dogs will only increase...

###

"I am always trying to help as many dogs as possible, but the lack of food and space is a real struggle right now. I cannot put any more dogs in the shelter. Some enclosures already have multiple dogs inside, and others can only have one or two dogs, as some of them can be very aggressive and territorial.

If we run out of food completely, the aggression will only increase... And apart from the risk of fights erupting, the dogs' immune system will also weaken, the dogs might get sick. Most of them are very fragile to begin with, that's why I took them in in the first place. If I don't find food for them, I wouldn't know what to do... I cannot let them out onto the street...

There are already so many dogs on the streets, abandoned for the silliest reasons, such as : "they bark too much". It’s a dog, it’s obviously going to bark... But these are the reasons why we constantly get more dogs, and new mouths to feed... I absolutely need to secure a new stock of food for my dogs."

3. Silka is completely blind. Unable to fend for herself among other dogs, she needs kibble to survive!

###

"Silka is a 4-year-old female. She's been in the shelter for around 2 months now. She was abandoned by the people who cared for her and found on the street by animal control... She was then put to the “Bukinje” pound, and later I brought her here to my shelter.

She was all skin and bones when I took her in. They barely feed the dogs in this pound, and Silka wasn't strong enough compared to other dogs, so it was even harder for her to get some food.

Silka is blind, she has cataract which is clearly visible in her eyes. She is definitely weaker than other dogs, and wouldn't able to fend for herself at all if a complete shortage of food happened. She relies on me completely to be fed. needs more attention and more food than others to hold on."

4. The pandemic has affected Renata's donations. She can no longer buy kibble for the dogs!

###

"I get calls from all around Bosnia to take new dogs. It seems that my phone number is the only one people can find online when it comes to dog-related issues... As much as I would like to help out everyone, I myself also need help to keep going...

Barely anyone here in Bosnia can help us much with donations, which is why I have to reach out to other countries. But I think now it's tough for everyone, everywhere. The donations I get from England have also dropped since the pandemic began.

I do not have a constant income that would cover the costs either, so I am always in some type of debt. I stay indebted to food providers or the vet station. Luckily, we have a good collaboration, they have been understanding with me so far."

5. Renata isn't asking for money, only kibble to keep the dogs from starving!

###

"When I go back to the place I was born, the main question I get is always: "are you still dragging all these animals around?" Everyone remembers me for my love for animals! I've opened my shelter around 3 years ago, after I came back from working in Afghanistan. Since then, I've tried my best to give these dogs the best life possible, keep them clean, well fed and healthy.

But as hard as I try to make my shelter a safe and warm place for them, there is no shelter here in Bosnia that can be a permanent solution for any dog. A shelter should only be a temporary solution, otherwise it becomes a prison...

That's why I try very hard to have as many dogs adopted out as possible. This year, we managed to have 200 dogs adopted. That’s what I’m proud of. I feel like a mother who sent her child out into the world and so they could find a better life for themselves. On my toughest days, I just sit down and look at pictures of dogs we managed to adopt out..."

6. If this campaign is successful, Renata will not receive any money but 2400 kg of kibble will be delivered from the Animal Webaction logistic platform in Bosnia

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Bosnia, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

7. Renata can count on the support of a few faithful supporters, but they've already done their maximum.

"Of course, all options are possible when we have enough money, but without donations, we can't do anything. Most of the funds I get come from 3 women from England that are helping me fundraise. They try to get money from anywhere they can. They've made this adoption calendar for example.

All these initiatives are what helps me buy food for the dogs. But right now, it's not easy. We can't gather enough to keep all the dogs fed... That's why I'm turning to you for help, I need it now more than ever!"

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The organizer doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Bosnia, stray dogs are tortured and killed illegally without anyone looking ...
