1. In Serbia, Zuzana will soon run out of kibble to feed the 128 dogs in her shelter. They will starve if nobody intervenes!

"We have 128 dogs in our care at this moment, we have never had this many dogs so far. The food has been rationed for a while due to the fact that the shelter has so many dogs, we're at a point where we are never certain if we will have enough in the coming days...

We were supposed to receive a donation from the city, but because of the pandemic they have cancelled that. Because of this we are not able to buy the food that we had planed, we have around 100kg of kibble left at this moment, which is nowhere enough. We are trying to get help from everywhere we can, as we cannot let these dogs down!

All my life I have been working on saving animals, every dog in our shelter has a special place in my heart. It would be devastating if we couldn't help those poor dogs. We cannot stand by and watch as these animals suffer, we have to do something, but we cannot manage on our own in this."

2. Without kibble, Zuzana can no longer feed the street dogs, they are hopeless.

###

"There are more and more dogs on the streets, and we rescue dogs not just in our town, but all around. Unfortunately, we do not have enough food to feed all of them, and we are also short on space at our shelter.

We already barely afford to feed the dogs at the shelter, so it has become even more difficult for street dogs. There are many we would like to rescue, or even to just feed until we manage to expand the shelter, we want to help as many as possible.

It is devastating that we cannot help these dogs as much as we want. I am utterly sad about the situation in my country. We need this campaign to succeed so that we can feed every dog in our shelter, as well as those on the streets."

3. Mamus used to live on the street, she was taken to the shelter while pregnant and injured. She still has to undergo surgery, but needs kibble to survive the operation.

###

"Mamus was rescued from the streets, she was pregnant at the time. After her rescue, she had four little puppies. We do not know exactly what happened to her, but she needs a serious surgery to her knee, which is painful at the moment.

In order for her to be able to endure the procedure, she needs to be strong enough, which isn't the case yet. We need to make sure she eats regularly and well in order for her to undergo the surgery, and lead a pain-free life."

4. Because of the pandemic, Zuzana did not get the municipal grant she was expecting, and donations are at an all-time low. She can no longer buy kibbles.

###

"Sadly, we've never  had a lot of donations coming in. The pandemic and the winter even made things worse. We receive less and less help from others, and it is just not enough, we need more help and more resources to keep the shelter going.

Unfortunately, the city is not able to help us regularly so every day is a struggle, especially to get food. We have one sponsor from Germany who helps us a lot, but mostly with medical bills, so we still need to find solutions as far as food is concerned.

Currently, 7 of our dogs need big surgeries, but we still have debts at the veterinarian, and also at the food store. There is no way for us to get by on our own."

5. Zuzana is not asking for money, only kibbles to keep the dogs from starving.

###

"The shelter was formed in 2013, I have helped creating it because I believe that every animal deserves love and care. I will always fight to protect them and to be able to give the best care I could give, but we desperately need more support, the dogs need it.

There are many things we would like for the shelter to expand :  more cement floors, so that in the winter time the dogs wouldn't get muddy ; more dog houses, so that we could take more dogs in ; separate cages for the fragile animals. But for now, all we need is food, so that the dogs will have enough to eat."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Zuzana will not receive any money but 1800 kg of kibbles, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Serbia.

Animal Webaction has a logistic centre directly in Serbia, which enables us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

7. Despite her calls for help, Zuzana can no longer cope, she needs our help to get some kibbles.

"There are not a lot of organizations that can help us. We work together with some other shelters and try to help each other out, whenever possible. People here don’t even have enough money for themselves, so they don’t have a lot to give.

In the spring time we have been able to give at least 50 dogs to adoption, and we are very grateful for that. That is why we are trying to make a difference and we will never give up on our beloved dogs!"

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.
