Animal Webaction visited the site 15 March 2021 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, more than 60 street cats rely on Hajar for food. But she will soon run out of kibble to give them, they will starve if no one intervenes!

%%%

"The abandonment cases are multiplying, the number of cats is on the rise, this is largely related to the pandemic, and the resulting economic crisis. I can't take any more cats into my shelter, which is already full, so I try to look after them as best I can on the street.

I have run out of kibble and am unable to buy any more to meet their needs. They don't eat every day and they don't eat their fill either . They are getting more and more sick, and are particularly exposed to viruses and bacteria by living on the streets.

I am desperate, these cats will be left to their fate if I don't find kibble, I don't know how they will survive. I'm very worried about this because I'm the only one fighting for them here. I need this campaign to succeed so I can continue to feed them."

2. Victim of an accident, Reo is left with serious after-effects that make him vulnerable, he cannot survive without kibble.

###

"Reo is a stray cat, who was injured in an accident on the public highway. He has several after-effects, he can no longer walk properly, and suffers from anal incontinence, all of which weakens him a lot, making him vulnerable.

He needs to have an operation as soon as possible, but this operation cannot be performed if he is malnourished, he won't be able to resist it. And without the operation, his condition is likely to get worse."

3. Hajar's shelter also hosts 58 cats, they too are threatened by the lack of kibble.

%%%

"The number of cats in my shelter has increased, while adoptions have collapsed. I used to be able to buy kibble on my own because the number of cats was small, but now I can't do it anymore.

I only offer care and operations for the most urgent cases, and I am sometimes unable to rescue cats even if they are in distress. I need help to be able to maintain my shelter and my cause, I can no longer cope with this situation alone. "

4. Blind and diminished, Hero is in poor health and needs kibble to get by.

###

"Hero is a former street cat, blind, whom I took into the shelter in a dramatic state. I took care of him, but he remains fragile. The others frequently eat his food...

I am afraid for him, afraid that his immunity will weaken further because he is not eating enough, and that he will catch infections."

5. The number of cats in distress explodes, while Hajar's resources dry up, she can no longer buy kibble.

###

"Like many others, I am facing a drop in donations due to the health crisis. This has become a real problem for many shelters.

My shelter's expenses are increasing, with spaying/neutering, treatments, food of course. I have very heavy debts to the vet, but also to the pet shop.

It's very hard, really. I am afraid that I will not be able to continue to help the street cats, and to look after their welfare. I feel helpless in the situation they are going through."

6. Hajar is not asking for money, only kibble to prevent the cats from starving.

###

"My passion for companion animals led me to open the doors of my small shelter to help them live long, happy and healthy lives. The cats' welfare is at the top of my priorities and a real responsibility.

What I do for them makes a real difference on a daily basis, the cats here are generally not treated well, they are sometimes even tortured. I help them, providing them with the necessary care, feeding them, and making sure they are spayed and neutered to limit their proliferation."

7. If this campaign is successful, Hajar will not receive any money but 1140 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistical platform in Morocco, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

8. Hajar can only count on the support of a friendly association, which has already done its best. She does not know how to get kibble without this campaign.

"I get help from a small foreign association, which means a lot, but its resources are also limited. I haven't found any other association to help me, and I'm afraid this campaign may not succeed."

9. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

10. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies . It is very difficult to find funding for kibbles, many cats remain starving on the street!
