Animal Webaction visited the site 15 March 2021 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Nassima will soon have no more kibble left for the 80 street dogs in her care. They already only eat every other day, and risk starving to death if no one intervenes!

%%%

"I currently feed about 80 stray dogs... I only feed them every other day to stretch the food as long as possible, but even so, we are running out of kibble. We only have ten bags left, which will last us no more than two weeks...

Most stray dogs have health problems, which makes them more vulnerable to a lack of food. If we don't feed them, their health will only deteriorate and I'm afraid we will have injured or dead dogs...

I'm very worried that I won't be able to feed them at all. They are always waiting for me at our meeting point, hoping that I will feed them, but soon I won't be able to do it anymore... We really depend on this campaign to succeed."

2. Starving and weak, the stray dogs are rejected by everybody, and the food brought by Nassima is their only hope.

###

"We have more and more stray dogs, they are in bad health and skinny, and they are always hungry... It's a big problem, and people here are afraid of being bitten or catching diseases through the dogs.

When the dogs are hungry, they go to the neighbourhoods to eat the rubbish, or to the few restaurants that are open to find leftovers. They are then chased away or, worse than that, people may call the pound to have the dogs picked up and put down...

We really need kibble to feed these dogs, not only will we prevent them from starving to death but also from being killed by humans."

3. Wounded, sick, and attacked by other stray dogs, Buguy won't be able to get by without kibble.

###

"Buguy is one and a half years old, and I have been taking care of him for nine months. He is friendly, but also very shy, as he is often chased by humans as well as other dogs. He is in a very bad physical condition: Not only does he have advanced scabies, but he also suffers from a bad leg injury from an accident.

It is therefore essential that I can continue to give him kibble... Otherwise, he won't survive."

4. The 14 dogs in Nassima's shelter no longer eat every day either, and fights will break out if Nassima does not find any food.

%%%

"I have fourteen dogs at the shelter, and just like with the strays, I can only feed them every other day. Despite my efforts to stretch the food, we will soon be facing a shortage of kibble at the shelter too, if we don't get urgent help.

If the dogs go hungry, they will start to fight and risk injury... They might even end up dying. The dogs are my children, I can't let them suffer, and I can't abandon them!"

5. Due to the pandemic, Nassima has lost her job and most of her donors. Her savings are exhausted, it is impossible for her to buy more kibble.

###

"There has been a big lack of donations since the pandemic. People have lost their source of income, so they can no longer support us. Before the pandemic, we were able to get by, but now we can't manage at all.

The debts are piling up: we owe money to the vet and we are five months behind on the rent for the shelter! My husband and I have been paying for everything ourselves since the pandemic started, but I too have lost my job and have already exhausted my savings...

I sacrifice a lot in my private life to try and get by, but with no income and debts piling up, I can't afford to buy kibble anymore."

6. Nassima is not asking for money, but for kibble, to prevent the dogs from starving.

###

"For the past six years, I have dedicated my time to animals and to helping them whenever they need it. My association is necessary because there are more and more stray dogs, often with health problems. The human population is afraid of them, and there is a killing programme...

It is one of my biggest worries that I won't be able to continue saving animals... We have to sterilise them, care for them and feed them. My hope is that we will receive enough donations for my dogs to live."

7. If this campaign succeeds, Nassima will not receive any money, but 2500 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistics platform in Morocco, which enables us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble everywhere in the country.

8. Online fundraising, sponsorship, search for patrons... Nassima has tried everything without success, this campaign is her last hope.

###

"The pandemic has deprived us of almost all the help we used to receive. We only have three sponsors left, all the others are unemployed and can't afford to help us.

I have contacted restaurants for help with leftover food, but they don't have customers anymore and can't help us either. We have tried online fundraising campaigns on leetchi, but there was hardly any response, so we had to stop those initiatives.

There are simply no more solutions, we have tried every option we can think of... We desperately need this campaign and your help."

9. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the collected products, the beneficiary does not receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

10. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many dogs remain starving in the streets!

If you know of a foundation or NGO that could help Nassima, please invite them to contact us, so that we can put them in touch.

If you represent a foundation or an NGO for animal welfare, please help Nassima's dogs, contact us and we will put you in touch!

If you would like to visit Nassima's shelter to offer help, or if you would like to send her food or a cheque directly, contact her via her association's Facebook page (note: direct help is done on your own responsibility).
