Zouzou is a FIV-positive cat. This means that he suffers from the feline immunodeficiency syndrome, also called feline AIDS. Having become less efficient, his immune system does not protect him from viruses and infections...
Probably facilitated by the FIV, Zouzou caught a calicivirus which does not pass: an inflammation in the mouth often prevents him from eating because it is so painful.
To help him, the vet had to remove all his teeth, and we have to take him for an anti-inflammatory injection every month...
Easy to ingest, the canned food would give Zouzou an opportunity to eat without having to chew. Even though he doesn't have a strong immune system, it would give him the strength to resist the virus as best he can!
Despite the donations we receive, we are not able to get by, because there are so many sick cats. The veterinary bills are piling up... Under these circumstances, feeding the stray cats is impossible without help!
