Smoothie is a one-month-old kitten that we took in a week ago. Some workers found him in a warehouse on an industrial estate, to which we do not have access.
Unfortunately, his mother had left him there without ever coming back... So we have been bottle-feeding him since then, and are starting to give him a little food as supplement.
When he arrived, Smoothie's nose was covered in scabs and his eyes were all stuck together... typical symptoms of coryza.
We therefore took him to the vet, who prescribed a cream to clean his eyes. We also dewormed him and disinfected his ears at this occasion.
With canned food, Smoothie would have something to gradually build up his strength when it's time to put the bottles away. This will be important to help him continue to grow, despite his illness.
Now, in early spring, kittens are starting to pour in from all directions! Many need medical care, some are not weaned and need to be bottle-fed... this requires time and important financial means!
