Animal Webaction visited the site 27 March 2021 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Hind is almost out of kibble to feed the 60 street cats that depend on her, they will starve to death if no one helps them!

%%%

"I currently feed 60 stray cats. Since the pandemic, the number of cats in my neighbourhood has been skyrocketing and I feel unable to take care of all these cats and feed them... They are already not eating enough...

I only have five bags of kibble left, which will last me roughly ten days. If I don't find more kibble soon, I will be forced to stop feeding the street cats and I won't be able to save any new cats in distress. I am afraid they will get sick or develop serious infections...

I feel lost and desperate. We are a small organisation with no food stock to face the coming days. All our hope is based on this campaign."

2. Henri lives on the street and suffers from an intestinal infection. Emaciated and sick, he would likely not survive without kibble.

###

"Henri is a stray cat of two years old who is affected by an intestinal infection. Even though we are treating him, his condition is not getting any better, and he suffers from weight loss.

He needs to eat well to start responding to the treatment. If I can no longer feed him, I am afraid that he will lose more weight or get more infections. Given his already weakened state, he may not survive without kibble."

3. Hind also looks after 65 cats in her shelter, many of them are particularly fragile. They too will run out of kibble in a few days.

%%%

"I have 35 cats at the shelter that need special attention until they get better. Once they have sufficiently recovered, I move them to my farm, where I currently have 30 cats ready for adoption.

If I don't find more kibble soon, I will have to ration them. The cats in the shelter are particularly fragile, and I fear that the lack of food will cause them serious infections or illnesses... I feel desperate and helpless."

4. Minuit is suffering from a severe infection caused by coryza. Young and weak, a lack of kibble could cost her her life.

###

"Minuit is a young cat who was born in my shelter. She is currently suffering from coryza, which has caused a severe infection that can lead to even more serious complications.

She is in poor health, so she needs protein and vitamins to cope with the coryza and survive. I'm afraid the lack of kibble will make her condition even worse..."

5. The number of abandoned cats has been soaring since the pandemic, while donations have dropped. Indebted and overwhelmed, Hind has no money left to buy kibble.

###

"The difficulty I am facing is the number of cats that is increasing day by day, I don't have the means to manage everything... Before the pandemic, I was able to buy enough kibble, but unfortunately there are too many cats to feed now.

At the same time, donations have dropped considerably because people are in crisis. I finance the association with my own money, but I don't have enough... I also have debts to the vet and the pet shop.

I can't buy any more kibble, it's beyond our means... I desperately need this campaign to succeed because I won't be able to take care of all these expenses without help.

6. Hind is not asking for money, but for kibble to prevent the cats from starving.

###

"Fifteen years ago, I made my first rescue. This led me to creating my very first association called 'Les terriers', which later became 'Comme chiens et chats'. Today, I devote all my energy and time to saving poor animals in distress.

My work is essential for abandoned cats as I care for them, sterilise them, and find them an adoptive family. I also educate people about the importance of sterilisation... This is how we can break the cycle of abandonment.

It's important that people support me so that I can continue to look after these cats. Otherwise, they won't have anyone to take care of them and offer them the tenderness and love they have been deprived of."

7. If this campaign succeeds, Hind will not receive any money, but 1140 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistical platform in Morocco, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver the kibble.

8. Online fundraising has failed, and other organisations can't help her... Hind is looking for solutions everywhere, but this campaign is her last hope.

"I have contacted other organisations, but I can't find any that can help us here in Morocco, and any aid from abroad has been postponed due to the current restrictions.

I call for help on our Facebook page and I also do online fundraising, but none of that is working well at the moment, due to the crisis. After my last appeal for help, we only received €25, whereas our target was €360...

I can't cope with the situation on my own anymore. The cats on the farm are ready to be adopted, but I am not receiving any requests for adoption... Soon, the farm will be saturated with cats. I hope that this campaign will succeed, it is my only hope."

9. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

10. In Morocco, donors are rare, and there are no foundations or subsidies... It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many cats are left starving in the street!
