Edgar is a cat of about 2 and a half years old, whom we found in the street and placed in foster care, because he is suffering from a serious and contagious disease.
Poor Edgar suffers from cat AIDS: his immune defences are less effective in protecting him against viruses and infections, which makes him very fragile and vulnerable.
Edgar has gingivostomatitis, an inflammation of the mouth and gums caused by bacteria. To relieve his pain, the vet removed all his teeth, but sometimes the inflammation comes back...
Because of the pain and because he has no teeth, Edgar can't eat kibble at all because he can't chew it.
Canned food would be easier to ingest than kibble and would prevent Edgar from suffering too much pain. He wouldn't have to chew to get some strength back, which would be a real relief for him.
In the current context, it is complicated or even impossible to organize collections in supermarkets. Our budget is therefore very limited, and we focus primarily on the food for stray cats. But unfortunately, this is done at the expense of veterinary care and sterilization...
