1. In Morocco, Michele will soon run out of kibble for the 800 dogs in her shelters. They will starve if nobody intervenes!

"The situation is really dramatic, the needs are enormous between the dogs in our two shelters, but also those we feed outside and the help we provide at the pound. We don't know how to continue.

It was never my intention to take in so many dogs in a shelter, but not doing so would have meant leaving them condemned to certain death, whether by culling or neglect. I have no choice but to carry on for all these animals who need me, but I desperately need help feeding them.

I am drained and exhausted, I have been ill for over 10 days, and I am terribly worried that I will not be able to find any kibble. We sincerely need a life raft to keep us from sinking."

2. The number of dogs in distress has increased tenfold due to the pandemic. Michele is trying to rescue as many as possible, but she won't be able to help them anymore if she can't find any kibble.

###

"We are overwhelmed at the moment, every new dog taken in means new vaccinations, spaying / neutering, treatments, one more mouth to feed etc... Because we are overcrowded and short of resources we are already accepting animals only as a last resort.

We recently rescued 51 puppies who were living in terrible conditions at the pound, some as young as 4 weeks old, in the rain and cold... and we also took in several sick or injured adult dogs. These poor dogs were doomed, it broke our hearts to leave them there to suffer alone.

Things are not perfect. But every rescue, every adoption, every act of compassion makes a difference to these poor dogs. Our priority is to make sure each of them has food, water, care and protection."

3. Rescued from the streets, Mino is unable to defend himself against other dogs in order to eat his fill. His survival depends on the arrival of a new supply of kibble.

###

"Mino used to be a street dog. He has difficulty dealing with other dogs when it comes to eating. He has been injured in fights that have broken out: we do our best to prevent this from happening, but we have no choice but to have large groups of dogs, which are difficult to manage.

The amount of kibble is crucial, if the dogs starve they will also start to fight, submissive dogs like Mino will not stand a chance. We can't let that happen."

4. Sick and exhausted, Michele is overwhelmed by responsibilities and unpaid bills, she can no longer buy kibble.

###

"Covid has caused our donations to drop, what we receive does not cover a quarter of our expenses at this moment. We have so many unpaid bills, for kibble, vet fees, constant repairs needed to maintain the shelter etc... We rely entirely on donations, and simply don't have enough people to support us as it is.

The animals we take in are very often sick and in need of care, they are also victims of accidents, we have many paralysed or disabled dogs. It costs a lot to take care of them, not only when they are rescued, but all their lives until they are adopted, which we always hope they will be.

We are strangled by the daily costs, and we have no way of coping with them. I'm in over my head, between the shelters, sending dogs abroad so that as many as possible are adopted, working with the city so that spaying / neutering can resume and we can finally see the end of it... In the meantime, we suffer to ensure the survival and maintenance of these animals."

5. Michele is not asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.

###

"When I created the association Le Coeur sur la Patte, it was to work with the municipality of Agadir to spay / neuter and vaccinate street dogs in order to eradicate rabies and control their population. At the time, I only had a dispensary that could accommodate 80 dogs.

At the beginning of 2018, the authorities decided that all the dogs had to be taken off the streets, everything was done very quickly, and we had no choice but to set up our shelters to accommodate them.

Life is hard with so many animals, I am very tired. There are the shelters, but I also have 180 dogs at home, day and night, and the nights are really hectic... But their love and gratitude is my remedy."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Michele will not receive any money but 5000 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistical platform in Morocco, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

7. Despite numerous calls for donations over the past few weeks, Michele is no longer able to cope and needs this campaign to succeed.

"We've been really pushing for donations lately, we're making lots of appeals. We don't get any government funding to help us, and rely 100% on donations to run the shelter.

Every month is a struggle, without extra help we won't make it."

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibbles, many dogs remain starving on the street!
