With his eye out of its socket, Willy wandered the street, exhausted...
Salto is a 15-year-old horse, who has a lot of health problems. He has uveitis in his left eye: this internal inflammation of the eyeball is particularly painful. In the long run, it could even cause him to lose sight in that eye!
Salto has tendonitis in his right hind leg. He probably injured it when he was mounted (before we took him in)... It is painful and disabling for him on a daily basis!
In order not to be overwhelmed by his health problems, Salto will need a food rich in vitamins. Pellets would be perfect for him to fill up on energy until he gets better!
Lately we have had to do a lot of rescues that were not planned. Most of the horses we have taken in are elderly or vulnerable, and in dire need of food and care... this means extra costs, which we struggle to cover on our own!
