Animal Webaction
This campaign has failed... Rescue 60 stray cats Morocco hasn't received anything. Why?

It is always a huge disappointment to see a campaign fail, it means that the concerned animals will not receive any help. Unfortunately, we can not ship incomplete campaigns.

When a campaign fails, why can't you at least deliver what has been collected ?

We want to maximize the help we are all bringing to the animals in distress. Our campaign goals are calculated to balance our storage, delivery and manufacturing costs of the offered products.

Delivering failed campaigns would generate too many costs, which would eventually lead to the bankruptcy of the website and leave all the animals that we could have helped alone...

The delivery of unfinished campaigns is also physically impossible for some products (if only 50% of a kennel is financed: we can not cut it in half).

Why can't you at least transfer the collected money to the association ?

Our activity is regulated by the french tax law, it forbides us to transfer money instead of the advertised product (article L 548-1 of the Monetary and Financial Code).

For this reason, when a campaign fails, donations are immediately refunded. If they want to, donors can send this money directly to the association.

If you can't transfer the collected money to the association, why don't you just send it to another one ?

Our activity is regulated by the french tax law, it forbides us to use the money for anything else than the original use announced in the campaign (article L 548-1).

So, unfortunately, we are not allowed to transfer donations from a campaign to another.

What happens to the free clicks assigned to a failed campaign?

Free clicks are saved before being reallocated to other campaigns (free clicks being immaterial, they are not submited to the same obligations than financial donations).

Animal Webaction visited the site 28 May 2021 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Najat is running out of kibble to feed the 60 stray cats that depend entirely on her. They will starve to death if nobody helps them!

%%%

"I feed between 50 and 60 cats in my neighbourhood: with the help of a friend, we take turns to make daily rounds. There are always more of them, their number is constantly increasing, due to the heartless people who abandon them…

As a result, I find myself struggling to feed them all. The donations, already low, have become too irregular to be able to take care of everyone, and I only have ten days of kibble left, after which the cats will have no more food.

I feel responsible, the kibble has become a constant worry, as I am the only one feeding the cats… I go feed them whether it's raining or windy, but the situation today is beyond me, and I can't do it alone anymore."

2. Without regular feeding, daily life will become unbearable for stray cats, who will lose all health.

###

"Street cats are constantly mistreated, hungry and sick, most are abandoned without being vaccinated. Others get diseases from what they eat on the street, as they are intolerant to certain foods eaten by humans.

Poor nutrition also weakens their immune system, I see cats with lung problems and infections all the time. Without kibble, they will develop even more illnesses, and I cannot afford to treat them or take them in!

I live in a small flat, I already house about ten cats in distress until they recover, I can't do more! It makes me immensely sad."

3. A serious infection having cost her her paw, Minoucha cannot feed herself, she depends on the kibble brought by Najat.

"Minoucha is a lady cat who was abandoned by her owners. Life outside is dangerous and she ended up injuring her paw; an infection set in and got worse due to lack of care... When I found Minoucha, amputation had become inevitable.

Today, Minoucha lives with three legs, in really difficult conditions, because she is not able to find food on her own as a result of her disability. She needs me to bring her some kibble, otherwise she won't be able to feed herself and she will die."

4. The donations are occasional and the needs are great, Najat is doing her best but can no longer buy kibble.

###

"The help of a few friends and individuals who follow my actions on Facebook is the only support I receive, and unfortunately it is occasional and limited. All my personal resources are therefore dedicated to cats.

And as these are not nearly enough either to meet the food needs of the cats on the street, I take out loans to buy food, at the risk of being denied credit soon... I am constantly in debt.

As for the vet, I have enormous difficulties in paying for care and medication. I do my best to treat injured or sick cats, even if I can't afford it, but it has become very complicated and I can' t see a positive outcome at this point."

5. Najat is not asking for money, only kibble to prevent street cats from starving.

###

"I have had a passion for cats since I was a little girl. And for years now, whenever I take a walk, I always carry a small amount of kibble in my handbag. I distribute them to the cats I meet, it has become a routine!

There is still a lot to be done in Morocco, many citizens need to be made aware of animal abuse, and efforts need to be made by the State, because the massacres of cats and dogs are still regular!

In 2021, it is a shame to show such inhumanity! I still have a lot of hope for the future of cats and dogs, many countries are now choosing to make their vaccination and sterilisation compulsory, and I hope that Morocco will soon take the same path."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Najat will not receive money but 1140 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistic platform in Morocco.

###

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Morocco, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble throughout the country.

7. Najat is isolated, all her requests for help have been refused, her one and only option to feed the cats is this campaign.

"My Facebook page is the only source of donations I have. I have tried to contact local and foreign organisations, but unfortunately it did not work out.

I hope with all my heart that the campaign will succeed, because I feel a great responsibility towards these cats: without me and without kibble, they will simply have nothing to eat."

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the collected products, the organizer receives nothing and the buyers get a refund.

9. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibbles, many cats remain starving in the street!

If you know of a foundation or NGO that could help Najat, please invite them to contact us so that we can put them in touch.

If you represent a foundation or an NGO for animal protection, please help Najat's cats, contact us and we will put you in touch!

If you want to help Najat feed the stray cats, or if you want to send her kibble or a check directly, contact her via Facebook (note: direct help is done on your own responsibility).
