Animal Webaction
This campaign has failed... Rescue 46 dogs Greece hasn't received anything. Why?

It is always a huge disappointment to see a campaign fail, it means that the concerned animals will not receive any help. Unfortunately, we can not ship incomplete campaigns.

When a campaign fails, why can't you at least deliver what has been collected ?

We want to maximize the help we are all bringing to the animals in distress. Our campaign goals are calculated to balance our storage, delivery and manufacturing costs of the offered products.

Delivering failed campaigns would generate too many costs, which would eventually lead to the bankruptcy of the website and leave all the animals that we could have helped alone...

The delivery of unfinished campaigns is also physically impossible for some products (if only 50% of a kennel is financed: we can not cut it in half).

Why can't you at least transfer the collected money to the association ?

Our activity is regulated by the french tax law, it forbides us to transfer money instead of the advertised product (article L 548-1 of the Monetary and Financial Code).

For this reason, when a campaign fails, donations are immediately refunded. If they want to, donors can send this money directly to the association.

If you can't transfer the collected money to the association, why don't you just send it to another one ?

Our activity is regulated by the french tax law, it forbides us to use the money for anything else than the original use announced in the campaign (article L 548-1).

So, unfortunately, we are not allowed to transfer donations from a campaign to another.

What happens to the free clicks assigned to a failed campaign?

Free clicks are saved before being reallocated to other campaigns (free clicks being immaterial, they are not submited to the same obligations than financial donations).

1. In Greece, Helen is running out of kibble for the 46 dogs in her shelter. They will starve to death if no one intervenes!

%%%

"Right now I have 46 dogs in the shelter, plus 8 puppies in quarantine, that were abandonded in front of my farm. I take care of them as much as I can, but it has become increasingly difficult to cope.

Donations are insufficient so I pay most of the costs, including food, with my monthly wage, which is not much. Now I have kibble for 3 days, then I will have to secure more. Food is the most stressful thing because dogs clearly depend on me to get fed.

I am really struggling, I am having a hard time meeting my dogs' everyday needs, it is difficult, very difficult. I do what is best but it is not enough and I am increasingly worried."

2.  Street dogs have no chance of survival if Helen has to give up feeding them kibble.

###

"Additionally, when I can afford to purchase enough kibble, I feed stray dogs in different locations. They know me and they are waiting for me everytime, because I have provided them with kibble for years.

I go to one area in particular, a place which is not liveable… The dogs there are very hungry, they don't have food to eat, most of them have health problems… I am trying to take care of them as much as I can, but the only thing I can really do is to offer some food and some water, as there are too many and I can't take them all in.

What will happen to them if I can't afford food ? They will starve, I will go visit and find some of them dead, as it has happened already. It makes me sad, unhappy, miserable. I can't handle it. It affects me a lot and it is very distressing. I love them all and anything I do, I do it clearly with love."

3. Helen needs kibble for Elina, the victim of a poisoning attempt that cost her siblings their lives.

###

"Elina used to live on the mountain, along with her 5 siblings. Someone had abandoned them up there. I went and feed them for about 2 years, on a daily basis, be it summer or winter, because I didn't have the shelter back then.

Sadly, before I got the chance to rescue them, one guy poisoned the siblings. Only Elina and her sister survived. This was about 2 years ago, the two survivors have been in the shelter since then, and I still feel awful when I think about it.

The situation is such a mess! Outside the city, we have many dogs that are starving in horrible conditions. And I am trying to take care of them as much as I can, but sadly I don't have the possibility to help more, I wish I could."

4. Helen has already had to borrow money for food and will soon be out of a job due to the crisis, she can't buy kibble anymore.

###

"I tried a lot to handle it all myself: there is no way I would have let my dogs starve and I did not want to bother anyone, so I took care of the dogs with my own savings. However, I eventually ran out of money.

I had to start making appeals for help on Facebook and to get into debt or my dogs would not have been fed. I don't know how I will repay that money, and I can't borrow more because everyone needs money in this dire covid-19 situation.

Aditionnally, my work contract will terminate next month, leaving me with no revenue. The job market has been badly hit, I don't know if I will find another job, it will be very hard to cope. I can't imagine being left with no food for my dogs. It would be something terrible, I simply cannot picture it."

5. Helen is not asking for money, only kibble to keep her dogs from starving.

###

"It all started with me feeding stray dogs. I grew increasingly conscious of the fact that the life span of puppies left on the streets was very short. That's when I tried to find a place, so I could rescue as many dogs as I could.

I started with 15, then 20 and then slowly increased to more than 40. My goal is to maintain a place where I can help all of them, provide them with love, a home and a family that they can be part of before they get adopted, even if I myself have to live meagrely.

There is a lot of pain in the street. I have tried to fix the situation alone, but of course it is beyond my strength to achieve it. No one can do it alone."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Helen will not receive any money but 2160 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Greece.

Animal Webaction has a logistics platform in Greece, which enables us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

7. The little help Helen receives is immediately exhausted, Helen relies on this campaign to ensure that her dogs can eat their fill.

"I manage the shelter on my own, with just one friend who helps me clean and feed the dogs in some cases; I get some help with adoptions too.

I had managed to keep my head above water thanks to food donations from a Finish association, but these cannot cover everyday expenses for 46 dogs and I can't tell what is coming next.

I will always find time to take care of the dogs, I can't leave them, but any help, even the slightest, will be very helpful when it comes to feeding the dogs."

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.
