1. A disease prevents him from chewing his food...

Boule, 5 years old, has caught a calicivirus. This very contagious disease causes his eyes to water constantly. He also has very bad gums, which are red and inflamed. Because of them, he can't chew his food anymore!

2. Canned food would allow him to regain strength without having to chew

With canned food, Boule could eat again without pain, because he wouldn't have to chew it. This would be an opportunity for him to regain strength and feel better despite his illness.
