Swelling, redness, inflammation: poor Anita is suffering from mouth pain, due to a calicivirus!

1. An inflammation in her mouth hampers eating!

Anita is a five-year-old cat suffering from a calicivirus. In order to alleviate her pain, we had some of her teeth removed a year ago. Her symptoms had lessened, but in the last month, the inflammation has started to bother her again.

In particular, she has difficulty eating because the back of her mouth is red and swollen. We, therefore, had a shot administered by the vet to ease the pain...

2. With canned food, she'd be able to regain strength more easily

Wet food would be more suitable than dry food for Anita, given that she has hardly any teeth left.

With such a diet, she could easily regain much needed energy and provide her body with the nutrients it needs to better fight off her illness.

3. We are in a precarious situation!

Some of the free-roaming cats we look after are very ill. With the cost of vet care and consultations ever increasing, the financial situation of our association has become particularly strained!
