Suffering from a severe calicivirus, poor Noiraud is having a lot of trouble eating!

1. His mouth is very inflamed!

Noiraud is a cat of about 10 years old, who has a pronounced case of calicivirus. His gums are inflamed, he has ulcers in his mouth and potentially an abscess. Therefore, he can no longer chew at all!

To alleviate his discomfort, we give him tablets in his food, without which he struggles to eat...

2. Nobody wants him so he lives outdoors...

Given his age and condition, Noiraud has never been adopted. He therefore lives outside, in a garden. We plan to move him to a secure site, but there, there isn't enough shelter for all the cats...

3. To eat, he needs suitable canned food

Canned senior cat food would provide Noiraud with a valuable source of vitamins, suited to his age. Easy to swallow and appetising, such food would allow him to easily take his tablets. He would then break out of this vicious cycle, and could see some of his symptoms ease a little.

4. Our budget can't cover everything!

To try to limit the number of kittens this year, we have performed numerous sterilisations, which represented significant veterinary costs.

Therefore, we no longer have enough resources to fund the specialised food for those of our charges who need it...
