1. Sometimes he gets sick...

Fernando is a 27 year old horse that we saved from the slaughterhouse. As soon as he lacks food, he has a vagal malaise and falls on the ground. It scared us the first time, we thought he was dead...

2. Because of a disease, his neck and his leg are twisted

Fernando unfortunately had Lyme disease (transmitted by parasites). Because of his age and the consequences of this disease, his neck and one of his paws start to be crooked. This is a handicap for him!

3. Because he has no teeth, he can't chew!

We had to remove some of Fernando's teeth because they were moving or in too bad a condition. So he can't chew at all.

4. With pellets in soup, he could continue to gain strength

Moistened whole grain pellets would be perfect for Fernando to eat without chewing. They would provide him with all the vitamins he needs to stay well, despite his advanced age.

5. We are in a very bad situation!

Recently, one of our volunteers passed away. In addition to the sadness we are experiencing, this has put us in a very complicated financial situation. This volunteer lent us material for the cats and horses of the association... but his heirs wanted to recover everything.

We must therefore release nearly 3,000 euros urgently to buy it back... Not only is this going to be extremely complicated, but we don't know how we will go on to find the necessary funds to buy the animals' food...
