Little Rio was abandoned when he was very sick...

1. He was abandoned in the forest!

Rio is a 6-week-old kitten, who was found in the forest, when he was only a few days old. His mom was not with him, but there were his brother and sisters. The poor things were at the mercy of potential predators, without the possibility to defend themselves...

2. He has severe digestive problems because of a parasite...

Rio has giardiosis: a parasite has proliferated in his digestive system, causing an inflammation of his intestines. Poor Rio has important diarrhea, and sometimes he even vomits... In the middle of his growth period, this disease could be fatal for him!

3. With the right canned food, he could still gain weight

To grow up normally, Rio will need a diet rich in vitamins. Kitten-sized canned food would allow him to fill up on the right nutrients while waiting to be cured. This would reduce the risk of stunted growth due to the disease.

4. We carry a lot of responsibility on our shoulders...

We have a lot of kittens to take care of right now. Most of the time, they are in bad shape when they arrive, and need care.

On top of that, we have to continue to feed the street cats on 3 different sites, and manage about 20 cats in foster homes... it's a lot for one association!
