Animal Webaction
This campaign has failed... Emergency dogs of Morocco hasn't received anything. Why?

It is always a huge disappointment to see a campaign fail, it means that the concerned animals will not receive any help. Unfortunately, we can not ship incomplete campaigns.

When a campaign fails, why can't you at least deliver what has been collected ?

We want to maximize the help we are all bringing to the animals in distress. Our campaign goals are calculated to balance our storage, delivery and manufacturing costs of the offered products.

Delivering failed campaigns would generate too many costs, which would eventually lead to the bankruptcy of the website and leave all the animals that we could have helped alone...

The delivery of unfinished campaigns is also physically impossible for some products (if only 50% of a kennel is financed: we can not cut it in half).

Why can't you at least transfer the collected money to the association ?

Our activity is regulated by the french tax law, it forbides us to transfer money instead of the advertised product (article L 548-1 of the Monetary and Financial Code).

For this reason, when a campaign fails, donations are immediately refunded. If they want to, donors can send this money directly to the association.

If you can't transfer the collected money to the association, why don't you just send it to another one ?

Our activity is regulated by the french tax law, it forbides us to use the money for anything else than the original use announced in the campaign (article L 548-1).

So, unfortunately, we are not allowed to transfer donations from a campaign to another.

What happens to the free clicks assigned to a failed campaign?

Free clicks are saved before being reallocated to other campaigns (free clicks being immaterial, they are not submited to the same obligations than financial donations).

Animal Webaction visited the site 19 November 2023 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Ibtissam has almost run out of kibble to feed the 198 dogs in her shelter. They'll starve if no one helps!

###

"Our stock of kibble, essential to our dogs' survival, is dangerously low. Today, we only have enough left to feed our four-legged companions for two days at most. This shortage forces me to reduce the daily rations, which unfortunately worsens their state of malnutrition. In recent months, the relentless rise in kibble prices has severely impacted our finances, draining our already limited resources.

Our efforts to save on kibble, by looking for cheaper alternatives or appealing to the generosity of our community, have proved insufficient in the face of this crisis. And the growing number of dogs taken into our shelter after the earthquake has added to our kibble consumption. Each new arrival is a further challenge to our already precarious reserves!

The thought that the dogs might go hungry or, worse still, that their lives might be in danger for lack of kibble, is a thought that fills me with deep concern. The reality is there, cruel and implacable: without a rapid solution to replenish our stocks, the situation of these dogs will deteriorate day by day!"

2. The impending kibble shortage increases the risk of fights tenfold and threatens the health of already weakened dogs...

###

"The impending shortage of kibble poses a serious threat to the dogs' health. If this situation continues, I fear they will suffer even more severe weakening and malnutrition. This drop in immunity could lead to an upsurge in infectious diseases, making our efforts to maintain their health even more difficult.

Some of our dogs may require urgent veterinary intervention, and the costs associated with this unforeseen care would weigh heavily on our already limited resources. To make matters worse, increasing hunger and stress could also alter their behavior, leading to increased aggression among the pack. The shelter could become a place of daily tension and fighting, endangering the safety of all residents!

The scenario I fear most is the death of our beloved dogs... It's a thought that haunts my nights, and an eventuality I can't bear. Yet, without kibble, my mission to protect and care for them seems insurmountable..."

3. Ibtissam has repeatedly failed in her attempts to obtain kibble... She begs us to intervene and help her feed her dogs!

###

"Every attempt to ensure the survival of our dogs seems to hit a wall. Our appeals for help and fundraisers organized on social media have been met with little response, exacerbating our sense of helplessness.

Efforts to obtain government subsidies were turned down. Even our attempts to negotiate reduced rates with suppliers or to set up credit agreements failed. Every door we knocked on closed, leaving us with a void of solutions.

This campaign represents our last hope, our last chance to feed our dogs. Without it, I fear our struggle to keep them alive will be in vain, and we will witness consequences I dare not even name. This urgent need for kibble is not only a matter of survival, but also a reflection of our unwavering commitment to these beings who depend entirely on our support."

4. Ibtissam isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.

###

"Kibble is at the very heart of our operations. Without it, we face an operational halt. Not only does this shortage hamper our ability to feed dogs, it also seriously affects their health. Medicine loses its effectiveness without adequate nutrition, rendering our fight against disease almost helpless.

The rehabilitation of abused dogs, an essential mission of our shelter, is severely compromised without kibble. Their recovery, already a rocky road, becomes almost impossible under these conditions. We even have had to refuse admission to new dogs, a heartbreaking decision that goes against our vocation. The long-term planning of our rescue campaigns is also affected, as without the certainty of kibble, we can't commit to saving any more lives.

The lack of kibble also has an impact on our vaccination program, which is crucial to the dogs' health. Every aspect of our work is affected by this crisis, forcing us to focus all our resources on the desperate quest for kibble, putting our other vital actions for the dogs' well-being on hold. This critical situation not only threatens their survival but undermines the very essence of our rescue and care mission!"

5. Ibtissam's days are grueling, and her limited resources make every effort to improve the dogs' situation particularly arduous.

###

"At the shelter, the days stretch on, long and exhausting, under the weight of multiple constraints. In a country where resources are limited, every effort to improve the situation of street dogs and those at our shelter is a battle in itself. Local regulations, often indifferent to animal welfare, add a layer of complexity to our work. The lack of local support is a reality we struggle with daily, and the geographical distance from potential supporters abroad complicates our attempts to find help.

Despite this mounting physical and mental fatigue, respite seems out of reach. Moments of discouragement are frequent, but giving up is not an option. We are aware of the importance of our mission and the dependence of these dogs on us. Their well-being and survival are our top priority, and we tirelessly continue, despite the obstacles, to look for ways to protect and care for them!"

6. If this campaign succeeds, Ibtissam will not receive any money, but 2500 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistics platform in Morocco, which enables us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble everywhere in the country.

7. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

8. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibbles, many dogs remain starving on the street!
