Following a double fracture, poor Noisette has lost a leg!

1. She had to undergo amputation...

Noisette is a young, two-month-old hedgehog who was found about ten days ago. She barely weighed 280g and was suffering from a double fracture in one of her back legs...

Regrettably, amputation was necessary. She is currently in recovery, taking time to heal and regain weight. We will later assess how well she is adjusting to her disability and its impact on her mobility.

2. Blankets would keep her warm

A set of blankets would provide a warm and comfortable environment for Noisette throughout her recovery. This would lessen the difficulty for her to maintain a stable body temperature and decrease the risk of infection in her wound.

Once recovered, we could arrange a secure area for her, helping her gently acclimatise to her disability.

3. We need your help!

Since our inception, our association has cared for 160 hedgehogs in 2023 and already 11 in 2024, all while conducting awareness campaigns and interventions in schools.

On average, hedgehogs stay in our centre for 43 days, a duration that can prolong for those in recovery or hibernation. Our hedgehog care centre is primarily reliant on individual contributions, as we don't yet have any grants... Your help with food and blankets would be of great support!
