1. She has a lung tumour…

Cookie is a 16-year-old cat with a lung tumour. She’s been coughing quite a bit and has lost a considerable amount of weight recently due to it. There was also a significant amount of pus coming from her nose.

Thus, we have started her on a course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs, while waiting to have a lung X-ray done to investigate further.

2. She's having a lot of trouble eating !

With age, Cookie's teeth have become significantly damaged. As a result, it’s become very difficult, if not impossible, for her to eat dry food…

3. Canned food would help her regain her strength

Appealing and moist food would be much more suited to Cookie than dry food. We could dilute it with a bit of water, making it easier for her to ingest. It would be possible again for her to replenish her energy, providing support to her body weakened by the tumour.

4. The costs are astronomical !

Many of our wards are sick and need expensive treatments. In total, 83 cats are relying on us, resulting in substantial veterinary bills ! So, we no longer have the funds to buy specialist food, blankets or provide shelters for those in need !
