Affected by a calicivirus, poor Charmeuse is struggling to eat...

1. The inside of her mouth is inflamed...

Charmer is a cat of about 14 years, who has had a calicivirus for three years. The virus is lodged between her gums and teeth, which obstructs her from feeding.

We therefore give her a tablet treatment to provide relief. Extraction of her molars may also have to be considered.

2. Canned food would help her regain strength without causing pain

A wet diet could greatly help Charmer. As well as allowing her to easily ingest her medications, such a diet would strengthen her. This might enable her to combat the virus more effectively, resulting in better health.

3. Veterinary costs have exhausted our budget...

Many of our moggies have a calicivirus and require a diet that is expensive. Our financial resources are unfortunately at the lowest, as we have had hefty veterinary costs recently.

Online appeals for donations have been launched, but the little that has been collected is, for the moment, far from sufficient to replenish our supplies…
