Animal Webaction visited the site 19 October 2025 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Kawthar has run out of kibble to feed the 130 stray cats who depend on her. They will starve if no one helps!

%%%

“I look after around 130 stray cats across several neighborhoods in Temara, with the help of volunteers. The cats wait for me every day in the same places; but for weeks now, I haven’t been able to visit all the spots or as often. Today, I’ve completely run out of kibble.

I try, with my own limited means, to buy a bit of food, but it’s never enough to fill their bellies. Sometimes I can only come every other day, because I simply don’t have enough... It’s a big problem, because these cats rely entirely on me to eat! And the locals are hostile — they already give me a hard time when they see me feeding the cats, so they definitely won’t help or give them anything...

The situation is getting worse because of new litters too: feeding spots are filling up with hungry cats and kittens. Without kibble soon, I’ll have to spread out my rounds even more; the weakest ones might get sick, poison themselves eating whatever they find, or worse…”

2. Emaciated, sick, and at risk : the street cats are growing weaker… Without kibble, the most fragile ones stand no chance.

###

“Physically, I can already see the change: the cats have lost weight, they’re more tired. The younger ones or the elderly no longer have the strength to defend themselves or look for food. Some need antiparasitic treatment, but I can’t provide it right now… And the lack of kibble makes every little infection worse.

Hunger is also making them more nervous: irritability and fights are increasing, especially in the areas I can no longer visit every day. The cats are roaming further in search of food, taking more risks; injuries are more likely, especially near roads or packs of dogs.

In the long run, if I can’t find kibble, some will get seriously ill or won’t survive. Hunger pushes them to eat dangerous things — poisoning can happen quickly. I feel helpless when I have to choose between cutting rations again or skipping a visit altogether: out there, missing just one meal can cost dearly…”

3. Blinded in one eye and weakened by hunger, Snowy may not survive much longer without kibble.

###

“Snowy, about two years old, lives in the Wifak parking lot. I found him with a severely damaged eye; the vet had to remove it to prevent the infection from spreading.

His condition is stable, but he needs monitoring to protect his remaining eye. The fatigue returns as soon as food runs out; without regular meals, he quickly weakens and becomes an easy target during fights or when dogs are around. The slightest cold, without energy or calories, could be fatal.

Snowy can’t spot food easily and struggles to defend himself; without kibble, he loses weight and his immune system drops… For him, a bag of kibble is more than a meal — it’s the chance to survive outside without collapsing!”

4. Debt, dwindling donations, and lack of support in Morocco: without this campaign, the 130 cats Kawthar feeds could lose everything.

###

“My financial situation is very difficult: I have about €500 in vet debt that I still can’t repay. I even had to use the money meant for the vet to buy some food recently, just so the cats wouldn’t go hungry. Donations have dropped a lot, but costs haven’t.

Because of that, I’ve had to stop rescues (except life-or-death emergencies) until the debt is cleared. I’m also struggling to afford antiparasitic treatments for the cats. Stray Care International helped once with food, but that support didn’t cover enough time or quantity for the 130 cats I look after.

I’m searching for partners, but there are very few organizations helping in Morocco, and replies are rare. That’s why this kibble campaign is so crucial: it allows me to secure the essentials (feeding, keeping them healthy, avoiding fights) and resume more regular feeding rounds, without having to sacrifice urgent medical care when needed…”

5. Kawthar isn’t asking for money : only kibble, to stop the cats from starving.

“My day starts before the city even wakes up. I begin by feeding the cats I have at home and cleaning their space, then I go to the street cats who are already waiting for me. I leave with food, hoping to see those familiar little faces: some are sick, some are scared, and others are simply hungry...

I feed them, treat them when I can, and coordinate with people who help feed in the areas I can’t reach every day. This work keeps me going — it’s therapy for me, a source of joy. When I arrive, some of the street cats run toward me! That fills me with happiness.

The problem is, I can’t keep helping them alone — it’s far too much for one person. That’s why donations are essential. Your gift today becomes a meal, a treatment, a spark of hope: it’s the difference between a cat falling asleep on an empty stomach… and one that feels safe and full, because someone cared.”

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

8. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many cats are left to starve on the street!
