Fall from the fourth floor, typhus, loss of vision: at only 6 months old, poor Athena has already been through many trials!

1. She's fractured her pelvis!

Athena is a six-month-old kitten who took a fall from the fourth floor. Poor thing fractured her pelvis and had to be immobilised for two months, while the injury healed...

2. She's contracted typhus and temporarily lost her sight...

Sadly, Athena contracted typhus which led to her losing her sight for three weeks. She also had to be put on a nasal feeding tube, as she refused to eat for a month.

Still suffering from severe diarrhoea, she now only weighs 1.7 kg. Her rectum was beginning to protrude (prolapse), so surgery was required...

3. Specialised canned food would help her gain weight

Gastrointestinal food could be a great help for Athena. While facilitating nutrient absorption by her body, such food would contribute to her rehydration.

Having access to this on a daily basis would provide her with the chance to gain weight, allowing her to continue her growth more comfortably.

4. Vet bills are draining our budget!

Between cases of giardiasis, injured cats, those with cat flu, ringworm or even calicivirus... the vet bills are staggering! We still have many kittens to care for, which only adds to the financial challenges!
