Trio is a two-and-a-half-year-old cat who was found orphaned, alongside her deceased siblings. She had to have a hind leg amputated due to osteomyelitis. This fungal disease caused certain bones to disintegrate.
Over time, Trio has also developed problems with her front paw, which has become severely bent. Her hind leg, however, has started to regrow. As a result of these complications, she developed osteoarthritis and is currently receiving treatment.
Since her arrival, Trio has had significant gastrointestinal problems, including chronic diarrhoea. Her body does not have time to absorb the nutrients from her food.
A gastrointestinal diet could be of great help to Trio. Assisting in the absorption of nutrients and rehydration, such food could be a good way for her to refill energy to be able to cope daily despite her disability.
Between the cases of giardiasis, injured cats, those suffering from cat flu, ringworm, or the calicivirus... the veterinary bills are enormous! We also have a lot of kittens to take care of, which further complicates our financial situation!
