"This winter feels endless. The rains have devastated everything around us. The access road was destroyed by flooding, the snow broke the fences. For days, no one could reach the shelter. The town hall doesn’t answer any calls, any requests. We feel completely abandoned. My husband and I fix what we can, one small section at a time, but the mud keeps coming back, and so does the damage. We are exhausted, and every new forecast of rain or snow terrifies us...
And in the middle of all this, there is the food. For 7 days now, I’ve been cutting the rations. I do it with a knot in my stomach. I can see it’s not enough for them. Their bowls are empty within minutes, and then… they wait. The stock is almost gone. Feeding 77 dogs in these conditions, without help, has become a constant source of anxiety.
The dogs live in the cold, in the damp, behind patched up fences that are barely holding together. In winter, they should be eating more to keep going. Instead, I’m giving them less... That’s what breaks my heart. Food is the most basic need. It’s not a luxury. Watching them search their empty bowls for more is something I can no longer bear."

"The consequences are already being felt. The dogs are on edge, the fights more frequent. The stronger ones get agitated quickly, constantly on alert. The calmer ones, the weaker ones, retreat into their kennels... They avoid conflict because they don’t have the energy to face it.
The older, sick, or fragile dogs are also on the front line. The slightest reduction in rations affects them tremendously. They lose weight faster, they recover more slowly. With the cold and all this dampness, they need strength… and that strength comes from food.
What worries me most is what comes next. If we don’t find kibble quickly, the situation will inevitably get worse. A dog that is hungry is not just a dog that begs or gets irritable, it’s a dog that is wasting away... No one can survive without eating. I am doing everything humanly possible, but without kibble, I will not be able to protect them..."

"I took Misha out of the pound when she was little. She was suffering from severe demodicosis, she was in terrible shape. We fought for her, we treated her, and little by little, she regained her strength. The problem is that today, Misha has chronic intestinal issues. She is constantly losing weight. I’m giving her treatment to try to stabilize her condition, but it’s fragile, very fragile...
Misha already struggles to maintain her weight, so even the slightest reduction in her ration puts her in danger. Without enough kibble, her condition can deteriorate very quickly. She needs this kibble to have a chance to stay stable and keep fighting."

"Financially, we have reached the end. The support decreases month after month. Prices are rising, everything costs more, and I have no income at all. I have always managed to get by, sometimes by borrowing money to buy kibble, telling myself I would find a solution afterward. But today, I no longer have that option. I can no longer promise to repay when I don’t even know how I will make it through the following month...
I have debts with veterinarians for transport and treatments. Some care has already had to be postponed for lack of money. It breaks my heart, because a sick dog does not have time to wait for the situation to improve.. My small group of supporters is still there, but they are very few. Many tell me they would like to help more, but they simply can’t anymore. I can’t blame them… everyone is struggling.
I write, I make appeals, I share, I ask for help again and again. It’s not easy to reach out, especially when you feel like you’re doing it constantly... But today, I have no other solution. This kibble campaign is our lifeline; our last option to feed our 77 dogs..."

"This shelter is not a job. It’s my life. I built everything around them. Every day begins and ends with these 77 dogs. Through them, I have learned to endure, to push myself further, to keep going even when I feel at the end of my strength. When it comes to them, I don’t hesitate. I give myself completely.
But on a human level, it is very heavy. In recent years, my health has become more fragile. There are days when I am exhausted, when I have to slow down because my body can no longer keep up. Winter makes everything harder: the cold, the mud, the repairs, the constant anxiety of running out. Sometimes, I feel like everything is against us: the weather, the economic situation, the silence of the authorities...
What keeps me standing is the love I have for them. My dogs have my heart. I will fight for them until my last breath. A “good day” here is simply full bowls, dogs that are fed and calm, a little sunshine, a moment of peace. Sadly, on my own, I cannot carry all of this. But with your help, I can keep fighting and guarantee them the essentials: meals, stability; care... A real shelter."
