Ulcer on the tongue, missing teeth, gum inflammation: sadly, Tsuco has a serious case of calicivirus!

1. She's being troubled by inflammation in her mouth while eating...

Tsuco is a two-and-a-half-year-old cat, who has calicivirus. To alleviate the inflammation in her mouth, all her teeth have been removed. However, she still has a very large ulcer on her tongue which prevents her from eating dry food.

We have, therefore, administered painkiller injections to ensure she doesn't suffer. Since she is very feral, we are soon going to have to release her back to her original site…

2. Canned food would help her regain her strength

In order to regain strength, Tsuco needs wet food that is easy to swallow. Cans of cat food would be perfect in enabling her to refill on energy daily without experiencing any discomfort. Fortified in this manner, she would be better equipped to withstand the cold once outside.

3. We're trapped in a vicious circle…

We deal with lots of sick cats, particularly ones with calicivirus. Stray cats pass it onto each other due to their weak immune systems! Therefore, veterinary expenses have gone through the roof in recent months, affecting our food budget…
