Animal Webaction visited the site 08 July 2020 and confirms the situation described below.

Animal Webaction cannot be held responsible for dog deaths due to the absence of kibble.

1) In Morocco, Ahmed will be out of kibble soon. Unless someone acts, 400 dogs will starve to death!

"The situation is very critical, the dogs don't eat enough. I have to manage from day to day, I try to get bread or bones. I can see that the dogs have less and less energy, the lack of food causes them skin and digestion problems.

Worse, they fight among themselves when they are hungry and the food is not enough! They risk killing each other..."

2) The 400 dogs live in packs, if they are not fed, the strongest will kill the weakest, it is a natural phenomenon.

###

"Covid-19 has caused enormous damage to the shelter: suppliers have become less active and help from restaurants that used to provide leftovers has greatly diminished, if not disappeared. Because of the pandemic several people have abandoned their dogs due to lack of means, which now have to survive on the streets... But with the ban on free movement, they have much more difficulty finding food.

The consequences of the pandemic are dramatic, I can no longer meet all the needs of the dogs at the shelter. I'm responsible for their lives, but I can't do anything now...

In addition, since the beginning of the confinement, veterinarians can no longer travel to make on-site visits and they accept a very small number of dogs in their offices. They are overwhelmed, and I feel useless..."

3) Several hundred stray dogs also count on Ahmed to eat: without kibble, they are destined to die!

"If the lack of food continues, I'll be forced to free the dogs from the shelter in the streets so they can have some hope of fending for themselves. The problem is that there are already more than 300 stray dogs today, and I can't accommodate them at the shelter because there is no more space, and the means to feed and care for them are very, very limited.

There is no solution, if I don't find food quickly then the dogs will all die, shot in the street by the inhabitants, or slowly because of hunger..."

4) Without kibble, Alex will probably be one of the first to starve to death...

###

"Volunteers brought Alex to the shelter in a very bad state: skinny and especially traumatized by the violence he experienced on the street. Today he's still small and skinny, he really needs proper food to regain his strength or he won't survive..."

5) Ahmed doesn't ask for money, only kibble to keep his dogs from starving!

###

"One of the biggest problems is the lack of public awareness, they are not aware of the impact of their behaviour on dogs.

I feel helpless and depressed at the ignorance of the Moroccan citizens, because not only do they not help the dogs, but on top of that most of the time the dogs are beaten, mutilated and mistreated . They are not given any chance to survive!

In addition to the dogs in the shelter and on the streets, every day there are on average 20 people who go to the shelter to ask for help, care or food for their own dog. These people do not have the means to provide for these needs and therefore appeal to our association . I need help!"

6) If this campaign succeeds, Ahmed will not receive any money but 4000 kg of kibbles, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistic platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Morocco which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles throughout the country.

7) Ahmed is desperate: he's exhausted and has already used up all his savings, this campaign is his last hope...

"People and volunteers who used to help me stopped supporting me during Covid-19, I'm on my own... There are only 10 volunteers who are not really active and committed, and only 4 employees, which of course I have to continue to pay for in addition to food, care, veterinary fees, water, electricity...

The association has more than 80,000 euros in debts to the vet. I've already used all my assets and income to support the dogs, but it's not enough!"

8) Les récoltes lancées sur Animal Webaction échouent fréquemment.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the collected products, the organizer receives nothing and the buyers get a refund.

9) In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies . It is very difficult to find funding for kibbles, many dogs remain starving in the street!

If you know of a foundation or NGO that could help Ahmed, please invite them to contact us so that we can put them in touch.

If you represent a Foundation or an NGO for animal protection, please help Ahmed's dogs, contact us and we will put you in touch!
