Animal Webaction
This campaign has failed... Rescue 240 dogs Morocco hasn't received anything. Why?

It is always a huge disappointment to see a campaign fail, it means that the concerned animals will not receive any help. Unfortunately, we can not ship incomplete campaigns.

When a campaign fails, why can't you at least deliver what has been collected ?

We want to maximize the help we are all bringing to the animals in distress. Our campaign goals are calculated to balance our storage, delivery and manufacturing costs of the offered products.

Delivering failed campaigns would generate too many costs, which would eventually lead to the bankruptcy of the website and leave all the animals that we could have helped alone...

The delivery of unfinished campaigns is also physically impossible for some products (if only 50% of a kennel is financed: we can not cut it in half).

Why can't you at least transfer the collected money to the association ?

Our activity is regulated by the french tax law, it forbides us to transfer money instead of the advertised product (article L 548-1 of the Monetary and Financial Code).

For this reason, when a campaign fails, donations are immediately refunded. If they want to, donors can send this money directly to the association.

If you can't transfer the collected money to the association, why don't you just send it to another one ?

Our activity is regulated by the french tax law, it forbides us to use the money for anything else than the original use announced in the campaign (article L 548-1).

So, unfortunately, we are not allowed to transfer donations from a campaign to another.

What happens to the free clicks assigned to a failed campaign?

Free clicks are saved before being reallocated to other campaigns (free clicks being immaterial, they are not submited to the same obligations than financial donations).

Animal Webaction visited the site 15 April 2021 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Hanane has almost no kibble left to feed the 50 street dogs that depend on her, they will starve to death if no one helps!

%%%

"I feed 50 stray dogs despite almost no donations as the crisis is hitting us. Add to that Ramadan, when all the restaurants are closed for a month: strays cannot find any leftovers.

It's already been a month that they don't eat enough, I had to distribute less kibble to make them last longer, because I can't afford to buy more. And today, I have only one week of stock left...

After that, I will have to stop feeding them, because I will have nothing to give them. My heart sinks every time I think of that, I feel distress and great anxiety, because they will then be totally on their own."

2. Blind and very fragile, Hip Hop lives outside and needs kibble to be able to eat and survive!

###

"Hip Hop is a lady dog who lives on the street near my home, I have been taking care of her for over a year. She is blind, so she is not able to find food by herself. In addition, she has very fragile health, and a lack of vitamins and proteins would seriously harm her health."

3. Hanane also takes care of 190 dogs in her shelter, they already do not eat enough and their health problems are accumulating.

%%%

"Due to the kibble shortage, my shelter dogs in the shelter are increasingly vulnerable, as I have had to reduce the amount of food and this has made them more fragile... More than 20 dogs suffer from mange, some of which no longer respond to treatment, and others suffer from persistent coughing...

I also do less and less rescues, on the one hand because I know I won't be able to feed more dogs, on the other hand because the new dogs risk transmitting viruses to the dogs in the shelter because their immune defenses are weakening.

My dogs are not eating enough, I am afraid that their condition will worsen, because they would need more food to get stronger. The situation is critical at my shelter."

4. Jack suffers from a severe form of mange that therapy won't cure, he will not have the strength to overcome the disease without kibble.

###

"Jack is a one-year-old dog, whom I found on the street two months ago. He has an intense form of mange, which is not healing despite injections and treatment.

Without regular kibble, I fear he will not recover and his condition will worsen. He needs to eat well to regain his strength and cope with the disease."

5. Over-indebted and heavily hit by the economic crisis, Hanane can no longer afford to buy kibble.

###

"The shelter's savings have long been exhausted, donations keep decreasing, abandonment stays at a high level — the situation has not evolved in months. Open restaurants prefer to sell their leftovers because of the crisis, whereas before they used to give them to me, and I can't buy kibble because I can't afford it.

I don't have any money aside, I already have debts everywhere, with the vet as well as with the water and electricity suppliers, the insurances... I am afraid of the future, I don't know how long this will last and if my shelter will be able to resist in spite of all these constraints that surround it."

6. Hanane doesn't ask for money, just kibbles to prevent the dogs from starving.

###

"In 2010, I started sheltering dogs in private homes, to protect them from the authorities, who capture the dogs to take them to the pound and kill them. Then, as time went by, I decided to create a place to protect them, I rented a land and founded the association.

Today, I try to save dogs in distress from human cruelty, I welcome them in the shelter, I take care of them and I find them a family, if possible. I do not count my time, my energy, my money, to help the dogs of Casablanca. Their situation causes me great sorrow, I hope with all my heart that the campaign will succeed."

7. If this campaign succeeds, Hanane will not receive any money but 3000 kg of kibbles, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Morocco which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles throughout the country.

8. Calls for donations, sponsorships and international aid are not successful; Hanane is counting on this campaign to be able to feed her dogs.

"I finance the association thanks to a few small donors who send me small amounts of money to the association's account after seeing my posts on Facebook, and to the generosity of a Moroccan company that helps me pay the rent, but unfortunately this is not enough to cover all the costs.

To date, I have not found any international organization that can help us, and the government does not subsidize us at all either. I can't cope with the situation alone anymore, I absolutely need help to be able to continue."

9. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the collected products, the beneficiary receives nothing and the buyers get a refund.

10. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies . It is very difficult to find funding for kibbles, many dogs remain starving in the street!
