Fractured pelvis, necrotic tail: poor Akina was hit by a car!

1. She was seriously injured by a car…

Akina is a one and a half year old cat who was hit by a car. Her tail was necrotic and she had an unusual gait due to a pelvic fracture. Her tail had to be amputated to prevent the infection from spreading.

2. She is extremely underweight!

Between the accident and a stay at a pound, Akina lost a lot of weight. Poor thing only weighs 1.9 kg!

3. Canned food would help her regain weight

Canned food is high in protein and would be an ideal diet for Akina. By eating enough every day, she could quickly regain weight. This would help her recover more easily and soon be back on her feet!

4. We are experiencing the effects of the crisis!

We are seeing a surge in abandonments (they have quadrupled!) and a massive influx of kittens. Many are in critical condition…

Like many associations, we are feeling the impact of the crisis. Inflation is directly affecting us: our resources no longer allow us to buy the same amount of food as before!
